The immunological, hematological, and glycemia effects of dietary supplementation with Agaricus sylvaticus (synonymous with Agaricus blazei) were studied. The study revealed that consumption of the mushroom enhanced people’s immune response. At the end of the study, subjects given Agaricus blazei increased their neutrophil levels (neutrophils are a type of white blood cell essential for the immune response).
